Roasted Red Pepper

Prep time: 30 minutes to the plate (active)

What you’ll need:

  • 2 medium sized red bell-peppers, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp – 1 tsp paprika (scale back if sensitive to spice)
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4th tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4th tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp – 1 tsp salt

What you’ll want to do:

  • Heat the oil in a large pan or cast iron skillet over medium flame.
  • Add the sliced bell pepper.
  • Add all the spice powders except the red pepper flakes and pepper.
  • The red pepper might take 15-20 minutes to start charring – be patient because this brings out the most delicious flavors!
  • Finally season with the red pepper flakes and pepper.
